Snow School Volunteer & Instructor Employment

2025 INSTRUCTOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM

Ages 13+ (8.5 hours, 8 weeks)

Open to Skiers & Snowboarders | Advanced Only (Level 5 & Up) (Learn More) | Average Class Ratio: 10:1

Designed for those interested in becoming instructors in the near future, this program prepares Instructors-In-Training with valuable experience working alongside our professional instructors.

In addition to practical experience, Instructors-In-Training receive valuable on-snow and virtual pre-season classroom training that helps prepare them for the Level 1 Instructor Certification Course offered separately through either the Canadian Ski Instructor Association (CSIA), Professional Ski Instructors Canada (PSIC) or the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) or to apply directly to Brimacombe Snow School.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE IIT PROGRAM: All Instructors-In-Training will be required to complete an interview process as part of the application for this program beginning mid- to late October. Prior to this time, you can contact Jayne, Snow School Manager at 905-983-7669 ext. 287 with any questions.

This 8-Week program includes pre-season virtual training and the first day of your program (either January 4 or January 5, depending on your selected day) will be on-site/in-class instructor training.

Please note: Completion of virtual training is mandatory as well as attendance on the first day, January 4 or 5, 2025.

Each subsequent week, beginning January 11/12, 2025 on the day you registered for, you will participate in 2 – 2.5 hours of instructor training led by a professional Brimacombe Instructor, combined with an additional 4.5 hours a week of experience in active classes.

Brimacombe will provide a letter of recognition for the involvement in active classes. Instructors-In-Training may be eligible to claim community involvement hours (IITs are strongly encouraged to verify with their school that the activity will count towards completion of their 40 hours.)

Our award-winning Snow School is always accepting applications from skiers and snowboarders 15 years of age or older! If you’re a strong skier or snowboarder, we can help direct you to become a ski or snowboard instructor with our Snow School.
