BRIMACOMBE MAKES A SPLASH WITH END OF SEASON EVENT
ORONO, Ontario — Spring may be just around the corner, but there’s still time to send winter off with a bang…and a splash! On Sunday, March 24, watch or join in as daredevils of all ages attempt to ski and snowboard their way across the 100-foot-long “puddle” at Brimacombe’s Annual Puddle Jump!
With this being Brimacombe’s craziest event of the season, spectators can expect lots of splashing, laughter and wipeouts. As well as some beach themed inspired costumes and cheers of triumph from those who successfully glide their way to across the “puddle”. Want to participate in this exciting end-of-season event? Just make sure you bring a towel and a change of clothes!
“Crossing the puddle successfully requires just the right mix of speed, agility and daring, combined with an attack of spring fever,” says Mark Rutherford, Brimacombe’s General Manager. “Competitors must conquer more than 100 feet of chilling water on equipment designed for snow in front of over 200 cheering fans, and yet, each year, more and more people of all ages rise to the challenge.”
Registration for the Puddle Jump will open at 9:00 a.m. the morning of the event, and the competition will begin at 11:00 a.m. outside of the East Chalet. All participants are required to have a helmet and valid lift ticket or membership pass, but it is free to watch!
