Camp Brimacombe Update: May 22, 2020

In light of this week’s announcement by the Ontario Government regarding summer camps, our Camp Brimacombe team has been working together to examine our entire program and will continue to do so in the upcoming weeks. At this time, while we are not cancelling our summer day camp program, we will be working with our regional Public Health officials to create a variety of scenarios for our programs that accommodate physical distancing and strict hygiene/sanitation protocols to ensure our campers and employees are healthy and safe while at camp. Please note, that our new Leader-In-Training program set to start this summer, will be cancelled.

We know that this summer will not look the same as our previous two years, and any modifications to our programs will inevitably bring reduced number of camper spots. While this may not be feasible for larger camps in larger cities, we are fortunate at this time as we enter into our third summer to be a smaller camp, that focuses on high-quality camp programming to small groups.

We understand that many parents in our community depend on us as a childcare provider in an area that has very limited options. We are fortunate to have over 100 acres of terrain to utilize as well as multi-level chalets, making physical distancing between campers and groups more feasible.

As we continue to monitor this evolving situation, we will update and communicate with our community and camper parents/guardians on our summer day camp plans. If you have already registered, we will be contacting you directly to discuss your options, because your comfort is important to us and we know a lot has changed since you signed up.

Again, this is based on the situation as it stands today. As this situation is ever-changing day-to-day and week-to-week, we continue to monitor the current circumstances and adjust accordingly. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to reach out directly at
