Brimacombe's Statement Regarding COVID-19 Coronavirus
Brimacombe has been monitoring, and continues to, closely monitor developments pertaining to the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
The health and safety of our guests and employees is our top priority and we will continue to take all appropriate precautions to reduce the transmission of all communicable diseases, including COVID-19. As part of that commitment, Brimacombe is closely monitoring government statements and recommendations, as well as local health department guidelines.
In addition to our routine cleaning procedures, special attention has been placed on sanitizing frequently used public contact points such as doorknobs, telephones, light switches, toilet handles, counters, hand rails, sink handles, tables, condiment dispensers and handheld pin pads. Additionally, after each use, rental equipment will continue to be sprayed and wiped with an alcohol-based solution. We have reminded all employees to follow our existing protocols for the everyday preventative actions to stop the spread of germs through personal hygiene and facility cleaning.
At this time, our facility is open and operating as usual for guests who wish to join us on the slopes and our March Break Camps will run as scheduled. As an event that draws a large number of spectators in continuous close proximity, we have made the decision to cancel this year’s Puddle Jump event scheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2020. Please note, the Invado Volleyball Tournament also scheduled for this day at Brimacombe will also be cancelled. We are as disappointed as you to be missing our favourite “end-of-season” celebration but with the current developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is our responsibility to follow the recommendations released by the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health.
We are asking all of our guests and employees to cooperate in taking steps to reduce the transmission of communicable diseases. Members of the public should refrain from coming to Brimacombe to reduce the risk of exposure to illness if they have travelled outside the country in the last 14 days and/or are experiencing any of the following signs or symptoms:
- Shortness of Breath
Travellers who have returned from areas under a travel health advisory for COVID-19 should:
- Monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days after leaving the affected area AND;
- Contact Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000 or their local public health unit if they experience symptoms
Additionally, guests are reminded of the following recommendations of everyday preventative actions to stop the spread of germs:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
