Operational Update: Main Street Chair – Feb. 20

Back to All Posts

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, Main Street Chair experienced a mechanical issue that resulted in a shut down of the lift.

Due to the nature of this issue, the evacuation drive could not be used to off load passengers.

Skiers and boarders were removed from the lift using the standard manual rope evacuation technique – hands-on staff training on this technique is provided twice each season, both in advance of the season and mid-season.

We would like to thank all the skiers and boarders, as well as their friends and family in the base area, for their patience and understanding as staff worked to ensure the safe unload of the chairs. We will be checking-in with all the riders who were on the lift over the next few days.

We would also like to take a moment to recognize and thank the Brimacombe team members who assisted, for their quick response, team work and dedication to the task at hand.
