Important Notice Regarding Crash Detection Feature On Mobile Devices While Skiing/Snowboarding

Back to All Posts

It has recently come to our attention that the crash detection feature under “Emergency SOS” settings on mobile devices can be activated during a fall while skiing or snowboarding – when activated, this feature alerts 911 and emergency services are dispatched. The purpose of this feature is meant to alert emergency services in the event you are in a severe vehicular crash.

While skiing or snowboarding at Brimacombe, we ask that you please turn off crash detection on your mobile device under “Emergency SOS” settings. This will prevent 911 immediately responding unnecessarily when you fall while skiing or snowboarding on the slopes.

As always, we have a team of Ski Patrollers, trained in first aid who can respond and assist guests if injury occurs on the slopes and will alert emergency services if further medical attention is required.
