Temporary Closure: Bowl Chair
Effective immediately, Bowl Chair will be temporarily out of service until cleared by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) due to a deropement at a lower assembly located at the load station on Sunday afternoon. All safety systems engaged as expected and a manual lift evacuation commenced immediately due to the inoperability of the lift.
Skiers and boarders were removed from the lift using the standard manual rope evacuation technique – hands-on staff training on this technique is provided twice each season, both in advance of the season and mid-season.
Brimacombe will work directly with the TSSA to determine the cause and resolution. The Bowl Chairlift will not operate until it has been cleared to do so. This lift closure will result in the temporary closure of terrain serviced by this lift – Ladies Downhill, Ben’s Bump and Bowl.
We would like to thank all the skiers and boarders, as well as their friends and family in the base area, for their patience and understanding as staff worked to ensure the safe unload of the chairs. We will check-in with all the riders who were on the lift over the next few days.
